I can see Mack's point though. I believe there was 49 at Mesquite, which was a $40k contest... it was also Labor Day weekend. The sheer number of cooks or at least any team that is willing to travel more than 150 miles is slim pickings. I Have foundvthat there is a high number of just cooking in my backyard contests higher out there than in other parts of the country. A good chunk of teams cook 1 or maybe 2 contests a year, because they are local. They have teams that travel, but they travel in their states. Now there are a few teams that travel over state lines. I have plenty of friends that do that and don't want to slight them.
Doctor expect to get huge numbers, one contest will suffer. And it might be the big money one because these 'local' teams don't want to travel or pay the higher entry fee.
