This has to be one of the silliest things I've seen come throught the "Dry season" of competition BBQ. Let me get this stright, people are debating weather it is ok to go find a really good BBQ cook to be on you competition cook team? If that is considered a bad thing then everyone who sponcers their cook team is buying a ringer. But then you have to ask what is a "Ringer" anyway? I was always under the impression that if you cooked in a KCBS contest you considered your sellf a top BBQ cook, or in some conversations a "Pro". Now most are not professional cooks by trade, but this is the big league. If you can't hang with the best go backyard. I consider myself capable of putting out as good if not better product than anyone else on any give Saturday (assuming that is turn in day). So I consider myself a ringer, does it mean I can't cook on my own team, or that I'm to good for the big time? Come on guys, go big or go home.
