Don't misunderstand, I laughed at that but there's a story here.

Back in the mid 90's Fast Eddy who was the Vice President of KCBS organized the first ever KCBS banquet and trade show. It was in North KC and had a good turnout. This was the first time the banquet had ever NOT been a small pot luck. It was a huge step forward and those of us who traveled from out of town really appreciated it. But some locals didn't like the idea and so the next year all this momentum was squashed and we went back to the pot luck in Blue Springs with the 2 back rib dinner for $3. I told Carolyn that I thought this was a big step backward and I was told that the banquet would now be held at a nicer venue every other year to please everyone. (Sound familiar) But the growth of KCBS took over and the banquet continued to grow into what it is today. So while FE might be morphing into an old timer he's actually the guy who started the idea of a nicer KCBS banquet.
