The satisfaction in making it yourself usually outweighs the labor to make it. The biggest compliment I've had is when I invited some coworkers over for a BBQ and grilled up some of the garlic sausage that I had made. One of them asked me to cook for their birthday party this weekend, and asked me to make garlic sausages....for 300 people! Well, about 150 brats, 50lbs of brisket, and 50lbs of pulled pork anyway. I could have just bought them, but I'm going to take the time and make them all up tonight.
