Just discovered braised red cabbage... my new favorite vegetable. Render some bacon, then sliced onion, then sliced cabbage, then brown sugar, dijon mustard, cider vinegar. Simmer for an houtr til nicely softened. I don't recall seeing it in the TX Hill Country or in KC or Memphis... then again places in TX basically had white bread and cheese! It ain't southern greens, but would it be considered a traditional BBQ side? Maybe in the southeast? thanks.
