Just guessing, but based on the wording, right now, judges aren't "held" to any standard. Go to class and you can judge for the rest of your life. Only standard they are held to is keeping a KCBS membership up to date.
They're not graded on how they score, monitored or given continuation training. And for standards, let's not talk about the criteria they're given for scoring. No real training of what's a 9, an 8, etc, etc. Leave it up to the internet to decided that bite through chicken is the "standard". Wasn't even mentioned when I took the class, I never received an alert from KCBS to change my standards.
One exception, on a rare case, and I do mean rare, IF the KCBS reps notice a scoring exception, one judge voting lower than others, it might be mention, but I think that's rare.
And in all the years of KCBS how many judges have had credentials removed? We know of one, might be more.
There isn't an overall Judge who monitors judges and knows if all they ever gives is a X for a highest score.
That's how I take the pole, always tough figuring out what was meant based on a simple statement.
I'm a Professional who is graded to a standard, passed a test, paid my fee and have to continually train to keep my profession.
I don't think it's a bad question, just maybe a little explaination would have helped.
