Yeh, you gotta give 'em a little more time. Usually, these things are put together buy a small number of corporate folks (in Bentonville most likely), then they assign a group to put together communications and procedures, etc. The central committee then takes forever to make decisions and get approvals and then they turn all this over to the store manager with only days left for them to implement it all.
The store manager (and Meat Dept Manager) are then left with all of the real responsibility to make everything happen in a very tiny window of time.
Given that it is end of February, the entire Sam's Club Series issue is still sitting in a conference room in Bentonville right now, and the committee is arguing arcane aspects of the event that us cooks don't even care about, or trying to determine whether to have bagels or donuts at the next meeting.
It will come together as we get closer.
