It's a good motor and can spin a 14 pound bird without any problem. Suggest you add a counterweight to any spit setup; to insure the load is well balanced. Counterweights can be found with a google search. That aside I'd look for a kit with a single piece spit rod. I've attached a link to a site which the personnel might be more knowledgable about rotisseries than the folks at Target. Just mho. Give them a call.
