If you keep rim clean you don't need a gasket. I cooked in below freezing temps but outta of the wind runnin 250 with vents almost all the way closed, no blanket. Maybe if it was in the wind I would a blankie.

You can get pass through bolts from the guru website I believe for 20bucks.

Now I will say I got bbqiq unit on order for contest so I can sleep and not worry all night. All the other airflow units were to expensive for just a wsm imo.
