In 2004 at the Bentonville Ar cookoff, I won the Benton County Championship which was the Friday night contest. The contestants were given a bag full of chicken wings and had two hours to turn it in. Reading the score sheets I had won by a sizeable margin over Jerry's second place. He just smiled real big and said "son you kicked our *ss today, congratulations." He was as happy for me as I was, thats the kind of guy Jerry is.
Before he got his Ol Hickorys, he was kickin butt and takin names for years on a customised Kingfisher. He used to produce the prettiest briskets I have ever seen. He was and still is one of my barbecue heroes.
