I grew up in West Virginia. When I was 16, a group of us would take a drive on Strawberry Hill Road which would transform from pavement to dirt and somtimes worse. Tucked away in a 'Holler' was this old pig farmer who would grill up "Snoot" sammies. note: snoot not snout. This was pig cheeks with about half meat on one side and half fat on the other. Horrible stuff, take ya a day to eat one but he did one thing that kept us coming back...he sold his Snoot Sammies and a small cup of "Shine" for $2.00. We would toss those Sammies and drink the shine.
