I don't know what contest you're alluding to here, but I know a very popular contest held on Pennsylvania Ave., in downtown Washington, DC that won't allow any teams onsite until about 10:00pm Friday night and won't allow anyone to leave until after 8:00pm Sunday night. No exceptions. Closed off streets and 300,000 people in attendance may have a little to do with it...and it's always max'd on teams. Oh, it's the National Capital BBQ Battle held on the last weekend in June. And the team entry form explains all this...and no one is surprised or complains because they all knew about the restrictions right from the beginning. So, "your" event may have quite valid reasons for their restrictions, they just need to get the word out...maybe like DC, put it in the team application information packet. Good Q'en On Ya'. John
