Hey all, just surfing the web looking for reviews and opinions about purchasing a new grill. I am here hoping to ask some folks specifically concerning my position in buying a new grill. To start, I love good food and especially good meat. Unfortunately I have very little experience in grilling (this is a problem I hope to soon remedy) due to spending most of my days in an apartment where grilling is outlawed unless on one community grill that is always being used by someone else. I am a poor student just starting at the University of Arizona School of Pharmacy. I am looking to spend as little as possible on a cheap grill, I am not concerned with it rusting out within a few years because Arizona air keeps rust at bay pretty well and I plan on purchasing a better grill post graduation (~4 years) when I actually have a little more money. I am looking for a grill that is going to cook evenly, and get hot enough to get some good searing on steaks. Will any grill pretty much do that for the first few years of life? Or are some superior to others in this aspect? Again reliability is not an issue, something that is cheap and cooks well. $300.00 is what I feel my max is...would like something around $200. I am grilling for myself, my wife, and 2 young kids. There will be occasional gatherings of maybe 25ish people, but nothing too big.

Thanks for your help,
-brian
