Steep 1-2 tablespoons into 1 cup of canola oil. Just warm it through. Strain, and use as a flavoring agent in your next paste; adding some salt, sugar, lemon zest. . . or add this oil to a marinate. They were right, a little can go a long way. I appreciate the additional spiciness as well, sets it aside from the homogenized Q that's out there these days.
