Nobody says you have to like one more than the other. You also don't compare one entry to another. Each entry is to be judged on it's on merit. Judge it based on the way the team presented it, vinegar, sweet, hot & spicy or not.
I may like vinegar based sauce better than a sweet sauce on my pork, but does that mean I should judge one higher than the other?
No. I may prefer vinegar to sweet or hot and spicy to not, however that does not mean an entry with sweet sauce is not good (for sweet)and does not deserve a good score. It may even be better than a certain vinegar based entry. I judge each entry based on it's own merit, I don't compare them based on what my personal preferrences may be.
