As the name applies, I'm in the heart of the Dutch oven world and deeply involved in Dutch oven cooking. I have seasoned well over 200 ovens and here's the best way:
1) Yes you can cook in the new process Lodge Logic oven with no further seasoning, however, you will want to follow up your own seasoning later.
2) The BEST stuff to use is Campchef Cast Iron Seasoning. It just takes a small amount to do the job. It has a high temp burn in so it is less likley to burn off in cooking. Rub down using your bare hand a very thin coat on everything you don't want to rust (except pail). Put in you home oven upside down on rack with lid right side up resting on legs. Bake for 2 hours at 400 degrees. Cool and redo as many times as you want.
Put away cool with paper towel inside and rolled up paper towel under lid so air can move in and out. DO NOT oil the oven before storing, there is no reason to and anything like that will just collect dirt and go rancid.
