There MAY BE some judges and contests out there where you find judges not having enough to get a full experience of the cook's entry, but I tell you the truth that this is more myth than reality.
As a rule, there is plenty of meat in each contest for any of us to get full and still not consume everything. In my opinion, we rarely see a judge in our neck of the woods that comes to a contest "to eat."
The grazing table is always full -- and the volunteers really do appreciate it. There has been only one contest I have judged where the grazing/volunteer table has been pretty well cleaned up ... and that contest had a judge serving as a volunteer who also happened to be a very heavy eater. That guy came to eat that day, but my observation when I have judged with that same guy, he has not skrimped on the entry so as to take more home.
Coolers or no coolers doesn't matter to me. If no coolers, then perfectly good meat off my judging plate gets thrown away -- what a shame.
