Tri Tip Question

Bought a tri tip yesterday. When I opened the package and unfolded it I discovered it had a fairly thick fat cap. I don't cook a lot of tri tip but I don't recall a "cap" on any of the others. Do I leave the fat on or remove it ? This will be grilled.
