I'm definitely not an electrician. All I knew was the 600 that was posted here was definitely more than the 400 in the instruction manual. We decided to test at home rather than in a rainy field. My automatic ignition is not working on my FEC anyway so maybe the portable power source will work.
If not, then I'm just going to go with the surge protector with battery back-up. I just want to know immediately if the power goes out while I'm asleep - not after the cooker has cooled down to the point I have to relight it and deal with all that.
