Contestant Rules
and General Information


$25 entry fee per class. Classes are Ribs, Brisket, and Anything But. Must enter all three classes to be considered for the Grand Champion. The Peoples Choice entries will be judged by the public for the People?s Choice Award so quantities must be available for public sampling.
Entry fee includes:
booth space approximately 10x20
2 free t-shirts
cover charge for 5 team members and 5 beer tickets
paper goods provided for public sampling
Double booth space available for $75.00
Pre-registration form and entry fee must be submitted by June 1st, 2011. Late entrants may register the day of the event.
The event will be held at the Y Men?s Pavillion, 100 Hill Street, Hannibal, MO.
Set up starts at 5:00 p.m. Friday, June 3rd, 2011. There will be a band from 7-11.
Gate opens to the public at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4th, 2011.
Cooks? meeting at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, June 4th at the Judges? area.
People?s Choice voting will start at 11:00 a.m. and end at 6:00 p.m.
Ribs will be turned in at the Judge?s area from 3:00 to 3:15 p.m. Brisket will be turned in at the Judge?s Tent from 4:00 to 4:15 p.m.
All meat must be USDA stamped and will be checked at registration.
All entries must be cooked on official Bar-B-Q contest grounds.
Contestant may season or prepare meats as contestant sees fit.
Cooking may ONLY be done on charcoal or wood fired device.
The Bar-B-Q contestant is responsible for observing accepted and prudent temperature and sanitary requirements.
No electric supplied.
No carry in beverages.
Judging containers will be handed out at the Cooks? meeting.
Anything placed in judging container that identifies your team will cause your entry not to be scored.
Judges? decision is final.
Each contestant is responsible for providing their own bread, buns, condiments, etc. for public sampling. Contestants must also provide tables, chairs, etc. as needed for their booth.

4th place $75 and ribbon

People?s Choice
