I talked to Blind Dog a few minutes ago. Things are tough in H'ville. They have no power there except what is operating from generators. He did not have a lot of damage personally but the damage is heavy and wide spread. To get gasoline most people are coming to Tennessee. The power supplier to H'ville (TVA) is not able to give any power. They have a lot of those large steel towers down that are used to transmit power. Those aren't things you can go to Lowes and pick up new ones. Thousands of wood poles are snapped off. He can't make a decision yet about the cookoff next weekend but I think he will probably have an anouncement on Mon or Tue.But remember, we have Mr. Dog in charge and if it can be done he will do it. Don't give up yet because the people in Alabama can certainly use your support. If you do go, fill up with fuel before you get there. Here's an idea: go a couple of days early, take your chain saw and load up on wood....it's every where and people need help cleaning up their yards.
