I was a retail meat manager for over 20 years with over 30 years in the meat business. I would NOT buy walmart beef. Most of it is injected. Read the fine print on the lables and you will see. It has to be injected with water and sodium to be pre packaged and get the kind of shelf life they need to get it from the packer to the store and on the shelf for some sucker to buy. I do buy, from time to time, beef from sams. to date I have not found any that has been injected. If you want to do a test just buy an injected ribeye from walmart and a rib eye that has not been injected from a quality meat market and grill them side by side. You will see the difference, the injected one will be a gray color and the non-injected one will have that golden brown grilled color.
