Ron, I agree with both you and Bob. The way you did it also was the way I did it...along with competing in many contests as a member of the Porkitects. Along the way, I got to know many teams and made a gaggle of friends along the way. The most telling thing I've experienced recently about how things have changed is that in the past couple 2011 contests I've repped is that several judges who are about to be eligible for their Master CBJ have asked me if I had any suggestions for them as to which teams they might cook with. I've got to say that I was rather surprised by such a question. Why? I find it hard to believe how any judge who has been around long enough to have judged upwards of 30 contests could not have gotten sufficiently acquainted with at least one team to be able to approach with whom to cook. If such be the case, the judge is failing miserably. JMHO. This MUST change. Good Q'en On Ya'. John
