scoring the fat side to absorb liquid

I'm going to try this weekend, but I'm wondering if I score the fat side of the brisket, put it fat side down in foil, will the brisket still absorb the juices through the fat side? I think I'm losing too much rub by laying it meat side down in the foil. Care to share your experience. Thanks in advance!
