I just read the KCBS Judges Code of Conduct and I really don't see how you can conclude that it isn't clear what the rules state, that no rules were violated and that they should not have been disqualified. The CofC clearly says no drinking before judging. It clearly says "I understand that strict adherence to the Code of Conduct is necessary to maintain my certification and to qualify me for judging in KCBS sanctioned contests." Anybody who signs the CofC and then claims it's ok to drink before judging shouldn't be judging. And a Master Judge? Whew.....

I think it is pretty clear that by drinking before judging as they did, they cannot maintain their certification and were not qualified to judge.
