If the judges really wanted less sauce they'd be giving 5s and 6s instead of 9s and 8s to the saucy entries...
You must have missed all the posts here and on other forums the judges get verbally beat up if'n they don't judge just the same as every other judge. I never understood the plastic, extruded chicken thighs and got verbally taken to task by cooks and warned by one Rep for not scoring 8s and 9s when I couldn't even see if there was meat under all the shiny, plastic sauce.
