I don't know the specifics, but every small engine mechanic I deal with says to use the ethanol-free gas... that or use the additive that neutralizes the ethanol.

I believe the same company that makes Sta-Bil markets an additive for fuel with ethanol.

Just google ethanol and small engine problems. There are a ton of articles.
