I just purchased a Banjo cooker. The burner is cast iron. I understand that it will rust if it gets wet. The maintenance guide recommends to spray WD-40 on the burner to prevent this from happening.

Isnt WD-40 flammable?? I know not to spray on a hot surface but what happens when you turn the cookers flame on later??
