How long to brine a bone in chicken breast?

Hi...seeing conflicting information online...looking to make ribs and chicken on the smoker...want to cook the breasts on the hot side of the offset around 300 degrees and want to brine them to prevent any drying out. See some recipes saying over night, some saying thirty minutes....Any comments would be appreciated....Bob
