I have had both and as a disclaimer i was given the keg to test and give feedback on how to improve it .I did side by side comparisons with different meats and found that the keg keeps the heat better when you load it the temp returns quicker to your temp that you want.all in all I think the egg is a great cooker and I think the keg is even better....if you want american made go with the egg ,the keg is made in china and is now imported to canada then here...I have also cooked on a primo ,kamado and a grill dome...and they are all fine cookers too..another disclaimer i also own and love my stumps and ask bubba que about stumps..good luck on whichever you decide
