I would like to thank all of you cooks and judges for making the Canterbury Park State Championship such an astounding success for its first year. We had 73 teams with 59 doing the four meats. Even with cooks coming in at the last minute, we had all but three judges certified. The President of the Minnesota Beef Council was one of the uncertified judges (an avid bbq cook)
I want to express my undying pleasure with the reps. Dennis and Linda Polson and David and Virginia Londeen were very professional and the quality of their work was unequaled. Working with new people from the Canterbury Park in their "virgin" event, always makes some "bumps" in the road. They handled everything smoothly and made sure the cooks and judges were happy and the scoring was exact and without reproach.
Grills Gone Wild received the highest overall numerical score this year with a 698.8564. Congratulations go to Quau and Tippy Canoe BBQ for taking the other top two places.

Thank you everyone for all you did to make this first ever Canterbury Park Contest be a premiere event right out the gate.
