Both brands are quite similar, which is natural considering the owners of each company were once partners. We use a Southern Pride for production cooking at our restaurant, but I wouldn't hesitate to get an Ole Hickory if the right deal comes along.

Either will last for decades with minimal maintenance, so considering the high price of stainless these days I'd look for a used model. There are some good deals out there if you spend some time looking.
