Yes, practice. There are lots of turn in pics on this web site to look at, do a search. Practice everything. (Fire control,temp control, seasoning, cutting of ribs, rib selection, garnish selection, sauce or not, box building, and so on) Then day of contest you will be confident of what you are wanting to do. Don't change at the contest, cook like you practice. Don't let others intimidate you. Practice will have your confidence in place. Then at the contest relax and cook as you practiced. Bring a friend who has seen you practice so another set of eyes can encourage you. Bring more of everything that you think you will need. Check the contest for any regulations that you will need to know (fire ext., bleach water, food gloves, etc.) There has been a contest list posted before that is quite extensive, maybe look at it and see if you need something. Practice at home, get your cook down. So has anyone mentioned practice? Then after the contest you will have seen and learned a lot, so review and see if there are things you need to practice.
