The logistics is why I voted no. It's not time for two divisions. And I predict the hobby will die down long before it is time.
I agree, it's not just the equipment (but the equipment does make a difference), and it is the art of barbecue. But the art is perfected by practice, and practice takes time and money that many teams just don't have. So those teams are usually told "Too bad, because that's what it takes," and they get to decide if they want to invest more, knowing odds are they're just helping pay for someone else's fun, or go back to cooking in the back yard. Personally, I like to do a little bit of both.
