if we are to remove all gadgets you need to include the pits used since some designs have some advantages over others- we all must use an open pit and a grate with wood and no charcoal. with no fire starters only natural kindling and lets also use only the seasonings that was available here in the americas at the time of james town and make true bbq like that which was made by the native american indians cooking whole hog and whole beef(for the bennifit of texas) venison and fish and wild turkey.
