I think one quick fix for some of this would be to use all the chicken cuts in the judges class not just the thighs so future judges see right from the gate it can be anything, just as it should be presented with/without sauce or garnish for the same reasons. In many a discussion I've asked why more teams don't turn in all 3 cuts (thighs,breast,leg) and was told every time "if we don't do thighs we won't score well because it's what the judges want to see". I for one would love to see all 3 or at least something different than thighs all the time. Makes ya think chickens are only built out of thigh meat...
