What it does for a judge is give him or her a better understanding of the system as a whole.Judges that are willing to do that and commit to learning all they can about the system are the judges that are commited to doing a good job. Knowing what a cook does to prepare for an event will open the eyes of some judges and hopefully allow them to give a cook the benifit of doupt when it comes to scoring. Hopefully it will cause them to put a little more thought into there scoring. If it is not a 9 what would it have taken to make it that. If you are trying to decide between a 7 or an 8 it is an 8, give the cook the benifit of doupt.
