The only benefit for having judges cook w/ a team would be if the KCBS creates an 'Effort' category.

What 'benefit of the doubt' should a cook receive? The cook should receive as objective score as possible in a subjective endeavor.

The food should be judged on it's own merits and those alone, regardless of whether a cook was careless or conscientious.

Of course, these are my opinions only, but I haven't seen any reasonable arguments to the contrary.
