Some of the suggetions you have given have me wondering. If I cook with a team and ask them question after question after question, what I will get is one teams perspective. This is not unlike the class if I understand the class. That particular team will impart their knowledge to the judge. Breasts are best, no sauce, no garnish and then this is what the judge looks for.
A team of cooks could possibly look at producing a video explaining the pros and cons of each cut of meat, garnish vs. no garnish, etc. and offer this to the judges. This way they are getting the information as to cuts, good idea by the way, but with a multiple teams inputs so it is not on teams perspective.
