I don't like the question "Do They Win" because that implies that winning is purely a function of what pit you have. You can win on anything if you can cook. That being said, "are they capable of winning, and have competitors won big with them?" - Oh yeah...

I have never heard of anyone using a smoke daddy in their pellet cookers - but I have tried it myself and found it to be useless for that purpose - although I love my smoke daddy for making smoked cheese!. Like any pit, its more about learning it and finding a cooking style that compliments its strengths and weaknesses. I will say that i've learned in 3 years of competition that an intense smoke flavor is not necessarily a good thing. There are a lot of factors that make up good BBQ.
