I really didn't think it added much additional flavor to the final product. I think that your cooking style and the quality of pellet you use makes all the difference. May point is that by getting to know the cooker well, you'll find there really isnt' any use for that sort of thing. Also, I am cooking on FEC100's - the case may be different for other types of pellet cookers. I will also say that this is just my opinion, YMMV.
