This too is a very expensive hobby for judges with zero chance of making a dime. Cooks at least have a chance to make some money back.
As I have stated many times I do my dead level best to judge every entry placed befor me to the best of my ability. I always ask the TC if all of the scores are in line. I ask if mine are out of line and then talk to the other judges to see what I may have missed. I learn from that and move on. When I TC and see a score that is out of line I point it out to the rep and and the rep if I need to say anything to that judge. After the comp I try to talk to that judge and ask what his thought process was on that entry. Most of the time I find that it is newer judges that are a little out of line and I do my best to mentor them and answer their questions.
