I have not run into a situstion such as your example. only a couple of times hace I had 8's and 9's turned in my most judges and only 1 6 or 7. That low score is thrown out anyway. I do make it a point to talk to that judge and try to find out what his/her thinking was to be that far off.
Again I feel there is no way to make judging even close to a science like cooking could be. way too many taste buds involved. It is in the taste area that I see the most differance. App. and tenderness are, for the most part, very close.
