A better option might be something like an iPod touch, but the programming would need to be done for an application. The application would need to record the table number & judge information (including CBJ #). Then as the table captain came over, each judge would need to enter in their boxes and confirm the number. Then score them. At the end of each round, the judges would need to "push" the results to a centralized server / processor and you'd have the results almost immediately with no need to redo / audit the trail.
The other "benefit" could be that if a judge scores a 5 (for discussion purpose) on any category, a pre-populated listing of reasons could be popped up, with a need to select 1. For taste, it could be something like Dry, Over / Under Sauced, Over / Under seasoned, salty, etc. This would at least be able to be given to the teams w/ minimal input.
All an idea though. The tech cost would be fairly high to get it started (but come on pilot program).
