This has been mentioned here before, but it's worth repeating. Don't trust looks, feel, smell or taste. All of those things are just indicateors that something isn't right. Not that it's not safe to eat. Of course noone is likely to eat spoiled meat, but you could eat it, and suffer no ill effect.
The point is that the bacteria that cause food to spoil don't cause foodborne illness, and the bacteria that cause foodborne illness don't cause food to spoil. So there just isn't anyway to tell if it's going to be safe to eat. All you can do is practice safe food handling, and storage procedures.
In a commercial kitchen no cooked meat can be kept more than 7 days unless frozen, and that is only if the meat was handled correctly before and after cooking.
