That's exactly what we've done. Already registered as a non-profit in Missouri. Just waiting on our IRS letter back so we're all good.

Ray, it's for more than just Florida. It's for anywhere this thing might hit and yes, we're being proactive. If it's important to you to know exactly what state we might be heading to then by all means, wait if you want to help. We're good with that. The question is then "what if there's no need for OBR to mobilize for this hurricane?" The funds are held until needed. We learned through Joplin that while it's certainly possible to raise funds on the fly during a disaster, it would be much more simple and less stressful to at least already have the funds with which to get started. In the future, we hope to have plenty available through corporate sponsors so that advance requests for assistance aren't so vital. But being in our infancy as an organization, it's more difficult to move forward without them. I hope that makes sense and by all means, if you have questions, please contact me.
