Please pardon my ignorance here. If the seeds from these NM style chiles were grown somewhere other than NM, would they be just as good? Or even close? I have plenty of space to grow them here in MD but don't know if the climate/soil/etc are critical to the flavor.
We were out in Mesa AZ a couple years ago and happened into a place called Los Dos Molinos. Salsa was the best I've ever had anywhere. My wife said my face turned about as red as the shirt I was wearing at the time. The more I ate the more I needed to cool the heat. 5 Carta Blancas later it was still "fire in the hole" time.
I called the local Wegmans and it looks like I'd have to go to one of the special places when they have the special "pepper show". They don't have one scheduled in PG county, unfortunately. It's not just something on the shelves at Wegmans, unfortunately.
