I don't want to poke a hornet's nest with a stick here, but.....
Isn't this actually just a piece of bureaucratic nonsense that the contest organizers/promoters are having to deal with? It seems to me that a contest that has fulfilled a major sanctioning organization's requirements, and has the required number of teams in attendance, should be a legitimate "qualifier". I can't see how having a piece of paper designating a contest a "State Championship" from an elected official adds any sort of extra validity to a contest.
I'm especially concerned about this in regard to states with "blanket" proclamations versus those that don't. Opinions?
