I found some 4 lbs. boston butt's at the grocery store today with the bone in. My question is if I buy two is this the equivelant to smoking an 8 lbs. shoulder or since each of them are smaller then a single 8 lbs. one is the cooking time less? For example if you were to smoke an 8 lbs. shoulder at an hour a pound giving a total cook time of around 8 hours would I smoke the two separate 4 lb. butt's at 4 hours or 8? Don't mean to make that sound confusing but I guess what I'm saying is does the cook time of any meat for that matter depend on the weight of the meat itself regardless if there are other meats smoking in the smoker at the same time?
