The Rep is the ultimate authority at a contest. In very rare cases a Rep's call may be overturned by the KCBS Board, but it would be unheard of for them to reverse a decision regarding an undercooked piece of chicken.

I think you should count yourself lucky that you actually know why you received the low mark. Wait until you hit the table where half the judges give you nines and the other half fives! Stay in the game long enough and you'll see all sorts of strange things that will drive you crazy or teach you to shrug your shoulders and repeat the time-honored chant "It is what it is.".

Oh, and shame on your friend for disregarding KCBS rules by identifying another judge for you. The double blind system is there for a reason and no good can come of defeating it. If you were to return the favor by identifying your friend, he would find his opportunities to judge further contests would become few indeed.
